How long does eyebrow microblading last?

Eyebrow microblading lasts 1 to 3 years depending on your skin regimen, resistance to pigment and exposure to sun. Annual touch-ups are recommended.

What about the microblading procedure itself – how long does that take?

The initial procedure is approximately 4 hours of work split into 2 separate visits (2 hours per visit).  The first session will include mixing a custom pigment; drawing out the eyebrow shape, and the actual procedure.  The second session should be 2-3 months after, which will follow the same process, plus filling in any gaps and refining what we did on your first visit.

What is exactly covered in the procedure?

When you arrive, I will do a consultation with you and apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area (20-30 minutes).  While the area is being numbed, you and I will choose a custom blended pigment to match your eyebrow hair. I will then draw in your eyebrows using a makeup pencil so you can have an idea of how your eyebrows will look.  Over the next hour, fine hair-like strokes will be added to the skin using a sterile, disposable needle dipped into the pigment.

    How much does it cost?

I always strive to provide quality service and products yet maintain affordability to you, because every woman/girl deserves awesome eyebrows.  The Initial 2 hour procedure includes: consultation, the initial procedure, custom pigment and shaping and an Aftercare Kit. I break up the payments to make it a bit easier on the pocket: Initial Procedure $350; Touch-Up (2-3 months after) $100; Yearly Maintenance $200.

    Will it hurt?

I will use a numbing gel before we start, although I realize some of us are a bit more sensitive than others.  If you feel a bit of discomfort in the beginning, know that this will subside pretty quickly. This session is meant for you to feel comfortable and relaxed.  At any time that you feel pain is coming on, I will stop and reapply the numbing gel. This is not meant for you to be in and out my studio. We pause and until you are comfortable and ready, only then do we continue with giving you the perfect eyebrows.

I’m all about safety and cleanliness.  What’s your routine or thoughts on hygiene?

Glad you asked!  I value your safety and the well-being of all my clients.  My procedure is entirely sterile and all the needles I use are disposable.  I am certified, ensured and have an up-to-date Blood Pathogens Certificate.

I see a hair strand that’s out of place.  Do you shape the real hair on my eyebrows?

No need to worry.  My work doesn’t end with just one thing.  I look at you, the whole you. You’re meant to get a full service here.  Any stray hair will be removed using sterile tweezers.

How do I know my eyebrows are looking fabulous during the process of microblading?

Oh, my darling, this procedure isn’t meant to be go-go-go.  You’ll have a mirror handy to consistently and regularly take a step back to check out our progress.  Together, we will have many chances to re-examine and adjust as needed before I continue microblading your eyebrows.  My job isn’t done until you are satisfied with your newly rejuvenated eyebrows.

What should I expect after the procedure?  What’s the healing process?

The beauty about this procedure is that there is no down-time.  You can proceed with your day as usual; however, how you take care of your new eyebrows over the next 7-10 days will ultimately determine the healing, colour retention, final appearance and longevity.  Have a read through the Aftercare instructions for more details.

How you take care of your new eyebrows over the next 7 days will ultimately determine the healing, colour retention, final appearance and longevity of your eyebrows.

What to Expect After the Procedure

After your microblading procedure, your brows will be topped with an aftercare ointment. You will also be provided with an Aftercare Kit to take home.  Apply the aftercare given over the brows 1-2 times a day or as needed to avoid them from becoming dry or feeling tight. You may also experience swelling that can be managed with soft gel ice packs.  Place chilled gel packs in a plastic bag before applying to eyebrows to protect the area from any moisture.

On Day 2 and 3, your eyebrows will be darker than you would expect. No need to worry, this is part of the healing process and will lighten quite a bit. Begin to wash your eyebrows using a mild cleanser everyday.

On Day 4 and 5, your eyebrows may feel a bit itchy and most likely will be scabbing and/or flaking.  I know it’s hard to resist, but avoid scratching or picking at them as this could cause pigment loss and scarring.  Continue to apply the aftercare ointment.

By Day 10, your eyebrows should be pretty much healed and you can resume to regular activities and applying makeup.

You will be given an Aftercare Kit to take home.

    Things to Avoid

    • After the first day of the procedure, wash and clean your eyebrows using a mild cleanser
    • Do not sleep on your face for the first 7-10 days. Silk pillow case is recommended
    • No exercise or any activity that will cause excessive sweating for 7-10 days
    • No skin creams and products containing Retin-A, AHA or any kind of skin peel for 7-10 days
    • Pools, Jacuzzis and saunas should be avoided for 7-10 days
    • No facials, facial fillers, Botox or makeup on eyebrows for 7-10 days
    • No tanning or sun exposure for 7-10 days.  Sun block should always be applied over eyebrows (SPF 50+ once the eyebrows are healed, not during the healing process)

    Final Appearance

The colour immediately after microblading will appear very sharp and dark but will soften and fade considerably (up to 40%) as the healing process concludes.  The final appearance of the microbladed area should be considered in approximately 3 months, once you’ve healed from the touch up procedure.

    Touch-Ups

Less is definitely more when it comes to microblading eyebrows.  This is a custom built brow and may take up to 3 times to ensure the pigment is in the skin and for achieving your final desired brow look. A touch-up appointment is required with this procedure where you may need to reshape or augment your eyebrows.

In 2-3 months, book a touch-up appointment to fill in areas that may have lost pigment or any areas that need to be filled in.  The touch up fee is an additional $100.
